Medline Europe solves corporate travel management problems and saves more than 15% on your budget with Destinux® implementation
- With the implementation of Destinux®, Consultia Business Travel’s SaaS solution, the company has managed to solve all its administrative, financial and service problems related to corporate travel management.
- Time and cost savings are the result of the digitisation and automation of processes in corporate travel management
Madrid, 06 september 2023.- Medline Europe, the European headquarters of Medline dedicated to the manufacture and distribution of medical and surgical products in more than 27 countries and with more than 1,500 employees, has managed to save more than 300k euros in corporate travel management costs thanks to the implementation of the Destinux solution by Consultia Business Travel.
Medline Europe implemented Destinux to solve its corporate travel management problems which were administrative/financial, incorrect allocation of travel expenses to employees and divisions of the company, non-compliance with travel policy and poor service to employees in case of unforeseen events.
Since its implementation, Destinux has enabled them to achieve savings of between 13 and 24%, depending on the country, in the management of business travel. This has been possible thanks to a correct allocation of expenses and a digitalisation of processes that has resulted in the automation of authorisations and greater compliance with travel policies, as well as improving service to people before, during and after the trip.
Background and solution to specific user and management needs
Medline Europe, with an annual travel volume in Europe of 1.8M euros, was experiencing complications in the management of its travel due to the lack of technology and a personalised service.
The healthcare company turned to Consultia to solve the problems it was having in the management of its corporate travel, both administrative-financial (expense overruns, lack of consolidation of payments, problems that generated additional work for the department with associated additional costs) and the dissatisfaction of the group of employees who had to travel due to the poor service provided by the previous travel service provider.
With the implementation of Destinux, Consultia Business Travel’s SaaS (software as a service) solution, the company was able to solve specific needs thanks to the different Destinux modules, both at user level to be able to make bookings in a personal and individualised way and at management level, with modules that automate their travel policy and internal authorisations and provide them with updated and digitalised reports on costs and trips. It has also allowed them to have all financial information integrated and available at any time, structured and consolidated in one place.
Finally, the entire Medline team has the professional assistance of a Personal Travel Assistant who advises them, manages their bookings and resolves any incident during their trips, as well as an expert in MICE who helps them organise their trips and special events and a 24-hour emergency telephone number to provide them with support during their trips.
Benefits achieved: time and cost savings
Thanks to all of Destinux’s functionalities, the company claims to have significantly improved the time it took to request a reservation, choose the options, request authorisations and receive the tickets. After its implementation, the whole process is faster and is centralised from Destinux or by dealing directly with the Personal Travel Assistant. From the user’s point of view, the financial director of Medline, Mariví Martín-Hordanza, highlights “the work of the Personal Travel Assistant, who is always available, who answers our questions and helps us with reservations”. On the company’s side, “we value the fact that we have reduced the time taken to manage bookings, approvals, invoice accounting and the ability to prepare detailed reports” and “the dissatisfaction of the people who travel has changed to satisfaction”.
As a result of the implementations established by Consultia Business Travel, Medline calculates that they have managed to save more than 15%, as their financial director explains: “the savings come mainly from the digitalisation of processes which saves time for the traveller, the authoriser and the administrative-financial department and the greater and better offer in the products to choose from”.
The positive results provided by Destinux in Spain have led the company to expand the service to the rest of Europe: Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Sweden.
