- The results reflect the recovery of the sector and the need for companies to digitalise their corporate travel management through technological platforms such as Destinux, which save up to 20% in costs and make their management more efficient, without losing the personalised service.
Madrid, 4 May 2023. Consultia Business Travel, a Spanish company specialising in the integrated management of business travel, has increased its total sales during the first quarter of 2023. The company has exceeded €5.5 million in turnover, which represents a 73% increase compared to the same period in 2022, when the figure was over €3 million.
The increase in the number of transactions that Consultia Business Travel managed in the first quarter of 2023, through its technological platform Destinux, amounted to nearly 21 thousand operations, compared to the more than 12 thousand that the company carried out during the same period of 2022, which translates into a 67% increase in year-on-year orders.
The first quarter results have been driven by the continued recovery of the sector – according to the Global Business Travel Association, turnover is expected to equal pre-pandemic data by the end of 2024 – and the need for companies to digitise their corporate travel management through technology platforms such as Destinux, which save up to 20% of costs in the first year of implementation and make their management more efficient, without losing the personalised service. To this must be added the excellent reception of Consultia Business Travel in Portugal, where turnover grew by 130% during the same period.
Exceeding the targets set
The figures confirm the good progress of Consultia Business Travel, which is growing 20% above the objectives set out in the company’s plan for this year and expects to end the year with an increase of more than 50% in its total turnover.
According to Carlos Martínez, CEO of Consultia Business Travel, “these results ratify the need for companies to have a solution that professionalises and digitalises the management of corporate travel, providing security, efficiency, sustainability and personalised treatment in this critical area to achieve the company’s strategic objectives”. Currently, we are happy with the acceptance of Destinux and we thank the companies that entrust us, every day, with the mobility of their staff; they are undoubtedly our motivation to keep improving”.
The company achieved a turnover of €20 million in 2022 (Spain and Portugal), which represents a growth of more than 120% compared to 2021 and 33% compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic. In Portugal alone, it grew by 500%, from 300,000 to 1.6 million euros invoiced. In 2022, the number of bookings managed by the company, through its Destinux technology platform, rose to 27,695 operations, compared to 16,295 in 2021, which translates into a 75% increase in orders. It also experienced an excellent performance in MICE events (Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions), tripling turnover in this area.
