Madrid, 31 January 2023. Consultia Business Travel, a Spanish company specialising in the comprehensive management of business travel, is closing the year with excellent results. In 2022 it achieved a turnover of 20 million euros (Spain and Portugal), which represents a growth of more than 120% compared to 2021, when it had a turnover of 9 million. In Portugal alone it grew by 500%, from 300,000 to 1.6 million euros invoiced. Consultia Business Travel, in turn, begins the new year with good prospects and expects its total turnover to grow by over 50% in 2023.
In 2022, the number of bookings managed by the company, through its technological platform Destinux, amounted to 27,695 operations, compared to 16,295 in 2021, which translates into a 75% increase in orders. It also experienced an excellent performance in MICE events (Meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions), tripling turnover in this area, due to the demand from companies that have implemented teleworking. As a result of this increase in business volume, Consultia Business Travel has reinforced its staff by 30% to adapt to the growth of the company and continue offering the best service.
Growth boosted by the trust of its customers
“This growth has been possible and has been made possible by the trust that customers have placed in the services offered by Consultia and the new customers who have joined in 2022,” says the COO & founder of the company, Juan Manuel Baixauli. To meet their needs and exceed their expectations, the company has implemented a series of measures in 2022. Among the changes incorporated by Consultia, the launch of new functionalities of its technological platform Destinux stand out, such as the Travel Management Dashboard that allows to align the travel budget with the company’s objectives, as well as to monitor and analyse all the data to be able to readjust them at any time; Destinux Green, the first functionality on the market with which a company can verify and offset the carbon footprint it generates and obtain the offset certificate and a traceable blockchain key, as well as the official certificate of cancellation of the credits in its corresponding register with just one click; or the expansion of its offer with the incorporation of Iryo’s high speed and Balearia‘s services.
In 2022, the #TeLoMereces campaign has been well received, with which more than one million people have learned about Destinux through the corporate video broadcast on social networks, and more than 70 million people have done so through views in different media.
From March to the end of October last year, the Consultia Business Travel roadshow travelled a total of 3,842 km for eleven live presentations and more than a dozen events in the main Spanish cities. A roadshow in which Consultia met with more than 200 companies that showed special interest in finding out how to make corporate travel management more efficient, sustainable and aligned with the company’s objectives.
The future of corporate travel is digitalisation
Accelerating the digital transformation of travel and expense management will be vital to improving the employee experience and achieving corporate goals by 2023. This is revealed in a recent study by Forrester Consulting based on a survey of 525 travel and expense managers in large corporations. Seventy percent of global respondents stated their desire to improve the end-to-end travel and expense management experience and 72 percent said that improving the integration between travel management technologies with associated expenses and other enterprise systems is their number one concern.
Now that the pandemic crisis is over, business travel has resumed its activity. The latest ‘GEBTA Business Travel Observatory’ confirms their recovery and anticipates a year-end cumulative trend that will be above 75% of the pre-pandemic travel volume. The observatory states that, despite the adverse economic context, companies expect to continue to increase the number of business trips and meetings in 2023. The fundamental reason is that business travel is necessary: revisiting clients, starting up new projects, creating new business relationships and, above all, close contact is essential for doing business.
For Carlos Martínez, CEO of Consultia Business Travel, “companies need to accelerate digitisation and a comprehensive service in the management of business travel, our hybrid solution through our Destinux technology platform provides the digitisation that the post-pandemic company demands without losing the human and close treatment that the traveller requires”, explains Martínez.
